CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES:

  • To bring language policy makers, language teaching professionals and researchers together for a discussion about the mission of teaching in 21st century, the meaning of teaching quality, efficiency and effectiveness, as well as analyse the aims, needs and perspectives of teaching /learning languages in multicultural environment that could consequently enhance the promotion of democratic citizenship, social cohesion, and intercultural dialogue.
  • To exchange information and knowledge, share best practices and experiences across national boundaries on teacher training and the enhancement of the development of teachers’ competences that would serve to acquire a better understanding of teaching the New Generation of students.
  • To disseminate best practices and experiences of Lithuanian teachers as well as of language teaching professionals from abroad in language teaching at all levels in all stages of life.

Four keynote speakers have confirmed their participation:

  • Rob Dean – an independent international teacher trainer and academic consultant, Pearson (UK);
  • Terry Lamb – Professor of Languages and Interdisciplinary Pedagogy, Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques, Head of the Westminster Centre for Teaching Innovation, University of Westminster (UK);
  • Georg Lind – Professor Emeritus, University of Konstanz (Germany);
  • Iveta Vītola – Pearson Central Europe Representative Office in the Baltics, Regional Manager for the Baltics (Latvia).

The Speaker’s Registration Fee covers:

Note: Reception fee and costs for excursion around Vilnius and to the National Museum Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania are charged separately.

IMPORTANT DATES

• Registration fees should be paid by 5 April 2018
• Submission of abstracts (250 -300 words): by 15 April 2018
• Notification of accepted abstracts: by 20 April 2018
• Submission of articles: by 30 April 2018
• Notification of accepted articles: by 10 May 2018
